Dear Members and Guests,

I hope you are enjoying your summer.  I also hope each of you were able to get some much-needed rest.

I also want to inform you that registration fees for the Fall and Spring Conferences will be increasing by $50 for FY 2024.  The registration fee for members will be $150, and for non-members will be $250.  We have not increased registration fees for at least seven years but have experienced rising costs in organizing our conferences.  With this increase, we hope to avoid increasing registration fees again in the foreseeable future.  However, we do not plan to increase registration fees for our workshops.

Additionally, we are putting out a call for presenters for our upcoming conferences.  Sharing your knowledge and experience with your peers is an excellent way to serve your constituents.  If you are a presenter at our Fall or Spring Conference, we will waive your registration fee, which benefits your district.  We are also considering offering a small stipend or gift card to show our appreciation for your time and effort.  Please consider presenting at our conferences.

Finally, I want to inform you that OKASBO is still seeking a Professional Development Coordinator.  If you are interested in the position or know someone who might be, please see the announcement on our website.  Until we find someone to fill the position on a full-time basis, Diane Adamson will be filling the position temporarily.  You can reach Diane at diane.adamson@okasbo.org.

On a personal note, I am recovering from my back surgery.  I have good days and some not-so-good days.
