Dear OKASSO members and guests,

After careful thought and consideration, the Board of Directors and I have chosen to postpone the 2020 OKASBO Fall Conference scheduled for September 23-24, 2020, until later in the Fall.  We apologize for this inconvenience.

The decision to postpone the conference was not an easy one.  However, it was also not a hard one when it came to the safety, health, and welfare of our members and guests.  With all the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the stress of starting schools, and several other factors, the decision was a logical one.  I am very proud of the Board of Directors and their foresight in this matter.

We are looking at two different sets of dates and are working with the Embassy Suites to come to a conclusion.  We plan to announce the new date the week of August 10th. If you would like to mark your calendars for the two possible sets of meeting dates they are:

  • November 11-12 (Wednesday and Thursday)
  • December 1-2 (Tuesday and Wednesday)

With the change in dates, we know this will bring about many questions.  Let me see if I can answer some of them now.

Q:   What if I have already registered for the conference, will I need to re-register for the new dates?

A:    No, you will not need to re-register for the new dates.  Your current registration will be honored for the new dates.

Q:   What if I have registered, and I have a conflict with the new date and cannot attend?

A:    Call or email me, and I will cancel your registration at no cost to you or your District.

Q:   What if I have already made a hotel reservation and need to move it to the new date?

A:    When the new house block is established, I will work with the hotel to automatically move all current room reservations to the new corresponding block.

Q:   What if I have a hotel reservation and cannot attend on the new date?

A:    Call the hotel and cancel your reservation

Q:   What if I want to register now to attend the conference even though a date has been confirmed?

A:    Registration will remain open throughout this period.  Please feel free to register anytime for the conference.
